For the blog this week, I decided to visit ’s “Early Childhood Care and Education”
webpage. The first thing I learn was. “Prioritisation is necessary. In this
regard, UNESCO’s early childhood programmes focus on holistic pre-primary
education for children over the age of 3, for which emphasis is placed on its
linkages with primary education. It is important to note that pre-primary
education must promote the child’s holistic development and should not be
implemented like early primary education” (Early Childhood Care and Education).
This was very interesting to me, and I love that I’m learning new things all
the time about early childhood education.
The second thing I learned was. “In the early 1970s
international efforts focused on the promotion of a child’s right to education
and UNESCO began to be directly involved in the field of early childhood
education, in particular pre-primary education and parent education” (Early
Childhood Care and Education). I think it great that even in the 1970 where
focused on children’s education. That they knew the importance of children’s
rights is.
The last thing I
learn. “Cross-sectoral coordination is difficult, especially at the national
level. It is one of the main challenges facing governments of both developed
and developing countries trying to promote a holistic approach to early
childhood. Responses vary and some countries have sought to remove the problem
by integrating sectoral responsibilities into a single ministry” (Early
Childhood and Education). I do know that everyone cares about children
education. I guess it always surprises me when the talk about the national
level. On the other side I see how important it is for everyone to come together
and make the world a better place for all children no matter where they live or
social status.
